BARU, KACHIKWU SAGA: HEAVY SECURITY TAKES OVER NNPC

Following the feud currently rocking the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC there has been heavy security presence at the NNPC headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

Sources at the federal capital territory disclosed that armed security men from the Nigeria Police Force and the Army had since taken over the entrance of the oil firm, while police pickup vans and armored personnel carriers had also been stationed on both sides of the roads that lead to the NNPC.

Inside Sources authoritatively gathered that the security beef up was as a result of the tension generated by the leaked memo written by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The feud which has caused some division at the NNPC has continued to generate reactions from Civil Society Organizations, opposition parties and even the National Assembly as a result of the leaked memo.
