OBA OF BENIN ADVOCATE TRADITIONAL APPROACH TO CURB KIDNAPPING

The traditional ruler of Benin kingdom Oba Ewuare ll has advocated that traditional means be use to tackle the recent upsurge in kidnapping and other violent crimes in Edo State.

Oba Ewuare, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku-Akpolkpolo, in a meeting with traditional rulers, priests, enogies and other stakeholders in the State said that it’s a must to develop a clear blueprint that could offer a lasting solution to the current insecurity menace in the state.

The monarch who spoke through the traditional Prime Minister and Iyase of Benin kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe, condemned the increasing cases of kidnapping, armed robbery and other social vices in the State.

According to Oba Ewuare, collective efforts were key to curbing the unwholesome trend. He, therefore, stated that all traditional rulers and chiefs in the State must brace up to the challenge through traditional means to tackle the upsurge in cases of violent and crimes​ which has engulfed the three senatorial zones of the State with various cases of kidnapping​, armed robbery and killings.
