Nigerian artiste, M.I Abaga and his Chocolate City record label, has filed a lawsuit against his American counterpart rapper Nas at the New York State Supreme Court for not delivering a verse in a song as they wanted.
The Chocolate City Boss in the lawsuit accused Nas and his Mass Appeal Records’ Ronnie Goodman duping Chocolate City after they had paid the rapper $50,000 for the verse.
According to M I, chocolate city had in 2013, entered an agreement with Nas and Goodman to contribute a verse to a track from M.I. where Nas was supposed to mention M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York, NAS’s hometown, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and the struggles of Africans and African Americans in his verse, but Nas didn’t mention any of the subject matter Chocolate City had asked for in the verse produced.
Nas three years after collecting the sum of $50,000 from the Nigerian rapper is yet to re-record the said verse as agreed.
