Report Reaching Inside Sources confirmed that two people has been reportedly killed while twenty nine others sustained several degrees of injuries at the Kisumu area as yesterday’s Kenya Presidential election re-run turns bloody.
Sources in the area disclosed that violence broke out in the area as a result of the boycott by the opposition leader over an alleged refusal of some electoral reforms by the Kenya independent electoral and boundary commission.
As a result of the violence, the electoral commission said voting would be postponed in the area like Homa Bay, Kisumu, Migori, and Siaya which are opposition’s stronghold hold.
The Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, while confirming the incident said two people had been killed and 29 people had been injured by police.
The Opposition leader Ralia Odinga said his party the National Super Alliance (Nasa) boycotted the election because the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IECB) failed to make the necessary changes needed to prevent the repetition of the shenanigans of the August presidential election which led to the supreme court calling for a re-run.
The incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta while casting his vote in the town of Gatundu, urged Kenyans to cast their ballots so that the country could move on.
Sources in Kenya hinted that about 50 people have been reportedly killed in series of violence between August and October since Mr. Kenyatta was declared the winner in August’s election.
