According an online news website Premium Times, former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has rented out a 25-room building as the secretariat for the newly established Cocker-Ibogun local council development area (LCDA) in Ogun state, at sum of 10 million naira per annum.
It was gathered that Obasanjo offered to rent out the building with some basic facilities such as water, toilets and a standby generator at a meager fee because Cocker-Ibogun LCDA secretariat is located at Ibogun village in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, the home town of the former president.
The Ogun state governor Senator Ibikunle Amosu in his quest of bringing the dividends of democracy to the people at grassroots recently created 52 LCDAs.
The chairman of the Coker-Ibogun LCDA, Juwon Gbadebo, during an oversight function to the area by the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, led by Olusola Sonuga said the action of the former president would boost development in the state.
Gbadebo also inform the delegates that the council was able to rehabilitate an extension of a mini water scheme and sink a motorised borehole to prevent water borne diseases through the provision of drinkable water in Iyanalogbo area.
