SOLDIERS ATTACHED TO SENATOR SHAABA’S CONVOY OPENED FIRE ON YOUTHS, KILLS FOUR

The home of the senator Shaaba Lafiagi representing Kwara north senatorial district was at the early hours of saturday set ablaze by an angry mob after his security personnel shot dead four citizens at the eve of the Kwara state local government election.

Trouble according to sources in the area started when youth in the area blocked the senator’s convoy demanding that the long abandoned culvet be completed before the Saturday November 18 local government election in the state.

An eye witness account disclosed that soldiers in the senator’s convoy opened fire on the protesters leading to death of four people with other severally injured.

Inside sources gathered that the protesters in retaliation, stormed the senator’s house and set it ablaze.

Sources also hinted that residents were said to have fled the town following the arrival of more soldiers as shooting has began again
