No fewer than 136 senior officers were yesterday 20 November 2017 promoted to the rank of major generals by the Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai led Nigerian Army.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian Army Sani Usman in a statement disclosed that 45 brigadier generals were raised to the post of major generals while 92 colonels were promoted to the rank brigadier generals.
Those promoted to the rank of Major Generals include Acting Commander Defence Headquarters Garrison H.O. Otiki. the Acting Director Veteran Affairs, Defence Headquarters; O.O. Soleye, the Acting Provost Marshal, A.T. Hamman, the Acting Military Secretary, F Yahaya; the Acting General Officers Commanding 3, 7 and 8 Divisions, B.A. Ahanotu, I.M. Yusuf and S.O. Olabanji respectively; Acting Commander Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, J.I. Unuigbe, Acting Commander Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, A. A. Jidda, Acting Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army), J.E. Jakko; Commandant, Depot Nigerian Army; V.O. Ezugwu, Director, Foreign Liaison, Defence Intelligence Agency, A.C. Agundu, Acting Commander, Headquarters Command Army Records, H.E. Ayamasaowei, Commander Guards Brigade, M.S. Yusuf, and late B.A.Raji, who was posthumously promoted.
Other officers promoted to major general are O.F. Azinta, J. Sarham, T.A. Gagariga, L.F. Abdullahi, J. G. K. Myam, U.S. Yakubu.
While the duos of A. Israel, C.O. Ekulide, S.O. Olowolayemo, J.T. Chukwu, E.E. Eyong, D.C. Nengite, C.A. Dalhatu, U.N. Babangida.
U.I. Mohammed, N.U. Mukhtar, O.G. Onubogu, S.Tm Shafaru, G.G. Shipi, A.S. Ishaq, A.O. Kalajaiye, J.C. Mbibi, J.T. Chukwu, H.A. Gambo and L.B. Mohammed, amongst others were raised to the rank of Brigadier Generals.
