Information making waves has disclosed that Ogun state governor Ibikunle Amosu has suspended the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and head of the Ogun State Council of Traditional Rulers Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, for allegedly calling Senator Solomon Adeola my son.
Sources in the state disclosed that governor Amosu who was represented by the secretary to the state government Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa at the just concluded Oronna day was said to have been offended when the traditional ruler during his speech at the event addressed the senator representing Lagos west senatorial district Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as an indigene of pahayi in Ilaro as his son.
Meanwhile there are speculations among the ogun state indigenes that the governor’s action might not be unconnected with the rumor making waves that Senator Adeola popularly known as Yayi is nursing serious ambition to become the next governor of Ogun state.
The move to suspend the Kabiyesi filtered into the air when the governor ordered the management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) to withdraw the honorary doctorate degree title already penciled down for the paramount ruler at the school’s convocation ceremony.
lt was gathered few days ago, that Ayoola Olaniyi, one of the governor Amosu’s closest aides had in a facebook post revealed that the governor is coming after Oba Olugbenle for daring to call Senator Yayi his son, which has generated wide condemnation across the social media.
According to sources, the governor shortly after a closed door meeting with the Alake of Egba land at the Ake palace had summoned the chairman of the Yewa South local government area Mr. Edun and the Secretary of the LGA to the office of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ogun connection with the development.
