DON’T DRAG ME INTO POLITICS PAUL PLAY TELLS JOURNALISTS

Ahead of the 2019 general election, contemporary Nigerian highlife musician, Paul I.K Dairo, popularly known as Paul Play has called on journalists not to drag him into petty Nigerian politics.

The highlife singer made this declaration while reacting to a publication credited to him in Monday Vanguard.

Dairo who took to his facebook page to distance himself from the dirty game said “i would like to state here clearly that this interview was cynically doctored to suit his interest or that of individual’s unknown to me”.

According to him the reporter had asked him his impression on how recession in the country had affected the entertainment industry which he claimed to have answered within the purview of his profession with no extension whatsoever to the government of the day.

The publication titled How Buhari’s reign has affected entertainment claimed the singer took a “bold swipe” at President Muhammadu Buhari’s government condemning it for misleading innocent Nigerians to believe in his visions which he claimed will improve the living conditions of the people and make their lives better.

The musician who Described himself as a non-controversial Nigerian, said he does not want to be drawn into the political space to be used to serve any interest or group of people.
