After the calls and protests of Nigerians from different states of the federation over the ill treatments and inhumane behaviors melted on mostly youths in the country by the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS, operatives of the Department of State Security Service DSS seems to have taken up the duty of maltreating Nigerians especially those who had scores to settle with close friends and relations of anyone in the State Security Service.
As at the time of filling this report the whereabouts of Engineer Simput Eagles Dafup is unknown as he was said to have been taken away from his Jos Plateau state residence after he was been tortured and brutalized by men of the SSS.
Inside Sources in its findings discovered that Dafup’s offense was the conversion 19-year-old lady Nabila Umar Sanda, who is the daughter of a traditional title holder in Biu, Borno State to Christianity from Islamic religion practiced by her parents.
The Borno state traditional title holder was once quoted saying he had all the connections to deal with anybody responsible for the conversion of his daughter to Christian reportedly employed the services of men of the SSS after tracing his daughter’s location to the house of one Pastor Jerry Datim in Jos after she was said to have been declared missing on the first day of December 2017.
According to Pastor Datim, Nabila who is a 200 level mass communication student of Bingham University in Nasarawa State had met Dafup, a Ghana based lecturer four years ago on a flight to Dubai and had been in contact ever since.
Pastor Datim who spoke on phone said Nabila converted to Christianity while at Bingham University and had recently reconnected with Dafup who was visiting Jos for the Christmas break and expressed her intentions to fully convert to the Christian fold.
Datim further disclosed that Nabila’s father was fully aware of his daughter intention to convert Christianity, but maintained that the move was totally unacceptable by him.
Pastor Datim during the phone conversation said “after they assaulted my family, I took the matter to the Plateau State Administrative Secretary of Jamatu Nasril Islam JNI, Sheikh Abdulazeez Yusuf, who was unhappy with the development and arranged a meeting with the SSS. Even at the SSS office, when they asked why I didn’t take the girl to the police station, it was the JNI that answered by telling them that we have been working together to resolve such issues without involving security.”
The mother of the arrested Engineer, Lydia Istifanus Dafup who in a press conference pleaded for the release of her son said the men stormed her son’s premises heavily armed in 5 Hilux van brutalized and torture him before they whisked him away.
Lydia in her word said “nobody has contacted me or any member of my family as to the where about of my son. I, however, know as a fact that some of the people that were found in the premises with my son and who were also assaulted and brutalized with my son were taken to the Plateau state command of DSS. While at the DSS office in Jos, they never met or saw my son there. The men suspected to have whisked my son put a mask on him and the others. The other people who were taken to DSS office in a mask are here with me to confirm my narration.”
