The Zimbabwe’s opposition party Movement for Democratic Change Tsvangirai has been thrown into mourning as a result of an Helicopter crash in the Mountain area of the New Mexico killing the 60 year old party leader Roy Bennett and his wife Heather who were both on board the Helicopter.
A former minister in the Zimbabwean government David Coltart made the sad news public when he posted on his facebook page saying “I have just confirmed from three separate reliable sources that Roy and Heather Bennett have been tragically killed in an helicopter accident in North America.
Bannet during his lifetime was Mugabe’s main political enemy who was jailed as a result of his constant antanism against the former president.
The former treasurer general of the Movement for Democratic Change Tsvangirai (MDC – T) relocated to South Africa on a political asylum when he was released from prison and he maintain status quo until the crash which claimed his life in the rural area of Mexico.
