Three weeks after he allegedly murdered one Ganiyu Ayinla, the personal assistant of Azeez Adekunle Lawal, chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos Island, suspected serial assassin, Adeola Williams, aka Ade Lawyer, has been arrested by the police.
Mr. Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni, former Lagos NURTW Boss was said to have hired the Assassin to kill his last victim, one Azeez Adekunle Lawal.
On the directives of IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, there was a massive manhunt for the notorious assassin, Adeola Williams a.k.a. Ade Lawyer following the assassination of one Ganiyu Ayinla, personal assistant to Azeez Adekunle Lawal in Lagos Island on the 23rd of January, 2018, by operatives of Intelligence Response Team [IRT].
Adeola Williams, 39 years old native of Isasi Village, Ijebu Ode L.G.A. Ogun state who was a professional assassin and has being on the most wanted list of the Nigerian Police for over 5 years was arrested in his newly rented house in Akure, Ondo State by IRT Operatives.
The suspect confessed to the assassination of Ganiyu Ayinla in Lagos state and numerous assassinations in the south West, Nigeria.
In his confession, he stated that one Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni former Chairman of NURTW, Lagos state hired him to assassinate one Azeez Adekunle Lawal for 1.5 Million Naira and was given 500,000 Naira advance payment while 1 million naira was to be paid after the assassination.
He said during the assassination attempt, the P.A. [Mr. Ganiyu Ayinla] to the target [Azeez adekunle Lawal] was erroneously assassinated, while their actual target, Azeez Adekunle Lawal who was in the same car with the late Ganiyu miraculously escaped with bullet wounds.
He stated further that Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni who hired him for the job refused to give him the balance of the 1 million naira because the target was not the one killed; hence Adeola Williams traced the driver of Mr. Olorunwa and confiscated his black Hyundia jeep from the driver and called Olorunwa that he will release his jeep after he pays the 1 million naira balance as he need to run and hide until the heat subsides as 2 of his boys were arrested by the police.
He further confessed that Mr. Olorunwa has being calling him to be very careful and hide well as some of his gang members have been arrested.
He also mentioned many other victims he assassinated in the past which includes one Hamburger a Union Chairman in Oshodi, Lagos; one Babajide Dosumu a.k.a. Mados in Ebute-meta, Lagos; one Salawe in Ajah, Lagos; Ganiyu Asaro and 4 others in Badore area of Lagos where he said he spread bullets in their car and killed the 5 occupants among many others.
Mr. Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni, 51 years old former NURTW Boss Lagos State indicted by the Assassin Ade Lawyer was equally arrested at 3pm yesterday in Ebute Meta area of Lagos state by IRT operatives.
Meanwhile, efforts are on to arrest the remaining gang members, who are presently at large.
