Nigeria Police on Sunday evening announced the arrest of three “principal suspects” allegedly involved in the February 14 massacre of over 40 persons in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The three suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the recent killings in Zamfara State, police said on Sunday.
The suspects, Halilu Garba, 45, (Alias Mabushi), Zubairu Marafa, 45 (Alias Wakili) and Nafi’u Badamasi, 40, would be helping police with further investigations prior to their arraignment in court on a date to be announced later, police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood, said in a statement.
He was however silent on how the suspects who he said are in Police custody and helping in the investigation of the killing were arrested.
The Police spokesperson added that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, after being informed of the development, was said to have directed that the suspected bandits be immediately moved to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
