A combined team of the army and police drawn from the police and army formations in Taraba has neutralized 10 Fulani herdsmen, who were using Taraba territory to launch attacks in Adamawa territory.
The corpses of the attackers were paraded at the Taraba Command of the Nigeria Police Force Thursday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), David Misal, the assailants were using a border community in Taraba State to launch attacks in neighbouring Adamawa State, when they were intercepted in Taraba and a shootout ensued which resulted in the casualties.
Adamawa State came under heavy attacks before now and the latest success is a watershed in the fight against the marauders.
Also, in a related development, 10 persons were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ussa LGA in Taraba State.
Speaking on the killings, the PPRO, Taraba State command, David Misal, disclosed that a surveillance helicopter has already been deployed in the area on a surveillance mission to check the marauders.
