Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has rubbished President Muhamadu Buhari ’s claim of Food security in Nigeria.
President Buhari had ordered for full food security by directing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) not to give money to anybody for food importation into Nigeria.
The president who gave this directive on Tuesday, 13th August 2019, claimed that the country has sufficient food, enough for its citizens.
According to him, the Agricultural sector under his administration has recorded massive growth and development as more billionaires have emerged through agriculture and most importantly, there is full food security.
In reaction through her Twitter page, Ezekwesili described as a ”blunder” President Buhari’s directive to the CBN not to issue Foreign exchange to importers of food products.
She lambasted the claims made by the President on food security and described him as a ”completely out-of-touch leader.”
