Gov Dave Umahi the executive governor of Ebonyi State since assuming office has continued to be a cog in the wheel of progress in the administration of justice in Ebonyi State and Nigeria.
His contempt for equity and justice has made a mincemeat of the modest achievements he has recorded in the infrastructural development of the state. From his disobedience of the court ruling that he should not swear in the local government council chairmen to the flagrant violation of the 2022 Electoral Act, Gov Dave Umahi is a despot with no regard for etiquette, justice, morality and honour.
His hounding of political opponents, women, journalists and the civil rights movement in his state has reached unacceptable limits. It behoves on the federal government and the international community to call him to order.
As he winds up his lacklustre government, the entire Ebonyi sociopolitical milieu is strewn with victims of his lawless regime. Ebonyians are united in the belief that Dave Umahi was the most despotic governor of Ebonyi State. Any judgment he cannot purchase he will flout the court judgement. He has put his citizens under spell.
Is Governor Umahi above the law or is the law there for the oppression of the common man. The judiciary should rise up against this impunity otherwise we will be heading to a lawless society.
