Every first week of December has been earmarked annual week to recognize the importance and role of Integrative medicine in healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The development occured at an all Nigerian conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Federal Capital Territory secretariat, Abuja by the Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners.
Describing the role of Integrative medicine in enhancing and strengthening conventional Medical practice, the association National President, Hon. Dr. Johnson Elechi, declared every first week in the December as the annual week of Integrative medicine with a bid to create an avenue for interface with all stakeholders and actors of the healthcare delivery system to drive for developmental growth.
The two-day conference had in attendance, key representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health as well as prominent practitioners in the field of healthcare.
The event also featured awards, reorientation, policy drive and many more.
The Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners is a professional institution that drives the regulation, promotion and development of Integrated medicine practice in Nigeria.
Integrative medicine is a subdivision of orthodox healthcare delivery which includes alternative, traditional or complimentary medicine and therapy in healthcare delivery.
