NAWOJ AMAZONS CELEBRATE TROPHY WITH COLLEAGUES

National Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, a women wing of the Nigeria Union of Journalists have taken to a tour of media outfits and organizations to celebrate the trophy won in a football tournament after five years of camping for same.

As part of the victory celebrations, the group in vibrant elation took the tour on a visit to the secretariat of the NUJ, FCT council where they were recieved with glee by the chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, Secretary, comrade Ochiaka Ugwu and members of the council.

Narrating the victory, NAWOJ chairperson, Anne Daniel while appreciating the Chairman for his relentless support and contributions, said the victory was a result of resilience and determination as the Amazon had attempted to lift the trophy for five years without success.

The team however coasted home to victory in 2023 after winning the trio of United States team, East African team and team Fave, the Oganizing team in the three matches that determined the winner of the tournament.

Ogbeche congratulated the women and expressed ride in their feat while charging them to remain steadfast in keeping the flag flying as such will entrench healthy social relationships as well as well-being.
The chairman also made monetary pledge as support on behalf of the council and promised to continue to stand by the woman in their endeavors.

The group further moved on to the National Assembly, house of Representatives corp, where equally excited colleagues led by the chairperson, Grace Ike flaunted the victors with joy.

The team then proceeded to the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to the reception of the National President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo who commended the good efforts of the group and equally promised undying support to the NAWOJ AMAZONS whom he described as glorious and prides of the pen profession.
