The PAM President in his welcome address said, President Almed Tinibu deserved an apploud over his choice of Minister in less than hundred days in office which other President could not do.
He urge the new minister to put in there best by discharging there duties to meet up with the renewed Hope of Me. President. Ekamo said.
Within a short period, the usual power outage in the country has improved to a near steady power supply. The signing of 2023 electricity bill into law by the president has amongst others demonopolised electricity generation, transmission and distribution.
By this arrangement, he has empowered state governments, Companies and individuals to generate, distribute and transmit electricity.
This alone has enhanced the living standards of our people, Comrade Ekamo said.
Sequel to his inauguration on 29th May 2023, President TINUBU has rolled out policies and programmes to ensure the economic well being of Nigerians.
Thus his eight (8) Point agenda of food security, ending poverty, economic growth, food security and job creation, improving security, access to Capital, rule of law and war against corruption have started manifesting in the lives of Nigerians.
To enable our president transform the economy and improve on the welfare of Nigerians, his cabinet is enriched with men and women of timber and caliber. These personalities have been tested, proven and celebrated in their various callings , Ekamo said.
Going by the President’s determination to harness the human capital of our youthful population to achieve prosperity for everyone, he charged his ministers during the maiden Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting to look beyond titles and offices and remain focused on their individual and collective contribution to transformation of the economy as and the upliftment of Nigerians.
The JP noted that , with the Oil Subsidy withdrawal has generated more controversy than any of Mr President’s reform agenda.
The subsidy withdrawal is not intended to punish Nigerians nor make their lives unbearable; it is for the general good of all
It is on record that TINUBU has taken some bold and decisive steps to turn the economy around. Apart from appointments and his zero tolerance for corruption, he has also withdrawn the oil subsidy.
Agreed that it has afflicted Nigerians with pain following it’s multiplier effect, but such pains are temporary or adhoc measures meant to benefit Nigerians soon.
Let it be known to us that the withdrawal will curb the greed for higher profits and deliberate sabotage by a few players in the oil industry which will positively affect the economy of the country.
I am convinced that we shall in due course be reaping from our President’s economic reforms. Remember, there is no success or development without pain.
Apart from ensuring the availability of the product, it will ensure competition in the industry and market forces will drive down the price of fuel as happened to the telecoms sector.
Above all it will banish queues at filling stations.
Mr president has also started granting applications/ License for modular refineries while it is also assured that our refineries at Portharcourt, Warri and Kaduna would start operations between December this year and December.
It is gratifying that the Minister of FCT among others have taken the bull by the horns in the provision of palliatives to cushion the pains of subsidy. Wike has not only revitalized the FCT Mass transit but ensured that commuters are not exploited.
I hereby call on Nigerians to support the resolve of our able and visionary president to make Nigeria better for all of us. He said.
