A coalition of a civil societies in collaboration with Northern Patriotic Front on Thursday urged the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to respect an order of a High Court ,Lokoja ,restraining the commission from arresting former Governor Yahaya Bello.
Speaking with Journalists in Abuja yesterday, a Media consultant to the front , Salmon Salami said the commission must obey the order of a competent jurisdiction
He said the issues bother on the fundamental human right of the former Governor as a Nigerian, stressing that unless and until such order is vacated by the commission .
According to Salami, contrary to media trials, Yahaya Bello is not a criminal and so cannot be hiding .
“We are calling on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to respect a subsisting Court order from a competent Court of jurisdiction restraining the commission from arresting the former Governor.
“EFCC should stop the media trials of the former Governor and seek to vacate the order of Court , unless and until that is done, the fundamental human rights of the former Governor must be upheld “.
